Swallow Falls State Park~ A Must See!

Seeking all outdoor enthusiasts! One of the most popular activities to do in our area in the fall is hiking at one of the many state parks. By far my favorite and the one thing we highly recommend to all of our guests is to check out Swallow Falls State Park! Housing the largest waterfall in the state of Maryland, Muddy Creek Falls (a crashing 53 feet), its sheer beauty will blow you away. The Youghiogheny River flows through the parks borders creating rippling rapids all of which creates a phenomenal landscape. The 1 ¼ mile walking trails winds around the park allowing guests to see Swallow Falls as well. For those that have some limited walking ability, there is a wheelchair access in the park and a ramp that leads down to the top of Muddy Creek Falls. Pack and picnic lunch and enjoy it at one of the picnic tables at the park. Dogs are permitted in the park from Labor Day to Memorial Day which makes it the perfect place to exercise your furry best friendly (please be sure to obey the leash law though). It truly is an exquisite place to visit and see so check it out the next time you are in town!

Lovin This Season!

Spectacular scenery @ Deep Creek this week!
The leaves have begun to really “pop” this past week covering our gorgeous mountains in brilliant hues of orange, red, and yellow! It seem to be naturally timing themselves to be at their prime for next weekend’s 47th Annual Autumn Glory Festival that kicks off on Wednesday the 8th and ends on Sunday the 12th. So much fun! If you haven’t made plans yet to attend, please do! Call us here at Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales and tell us what you are looking for in a vacation home and as always, we will do our best to find the perfect home for you (1-866-351-1119 or online www.deepcreekvacations.com).

Having fun @ last year’s VRMA!
Speaking of us here at Taylor-Made, several of us will be getting ready to attend VRMA’s (Vacation Rental Managers Association) conference in San Diego at the end of the month. This is always an excellent chance for those in the vacation rental industry to attend classes and seminars on all of the latest trends in our industry. Keynote speakers speak each day and it’s just an optimal time to network with colleagues to exchange ideas. As a company, it brings our coworkers closer together (face it, 6 full days and evenings will do that!) and we can return full of new plans and goals! For you, our guest, it gives us the chance to better ourselves in all areas from customer service, housekeeping, maintenance, marketing, and more. Very exciting happenings this month!
Love fall decorations!

Once again, try to come and celebrate the Autumn Glory Festival with us but if you can’t get away that weekend, there is still plenty of time to come and enjoy the fall foliage and still so much to do this time of the year (hiking at Swallow Falls State Park, horseback riding, pontoon boat tours, disc golf at Wisp, and the list goes on!) We can’t wait to see you at the lake!

Why are you not here?

We are officially in the fall season as the air tends to dip lower in the evenings and the trees are starting to take color. In a few weeks, our leaves will begin to peak just in time for our annual Autumn Glory Festival, which is by far, my favorite Garrett County tradition! Days of fun-filled activities and definitely something for everyone in your group. If you haven’t planned your fall getaway yet, this is the place to be! Days of craft shows, classic car shows, antiquing, Farmer’s Market are just to name a few! The festival is highlighted with a grand parade that winds down through the streets of Oakland, our county seat! Marching bands, clowns, elaborately festive floats, music and the list goes on! Balloons, souvenirs, delicious food vendors, and well…. I said that the list goes on! It’s just such a fun family friendly atmosphere that you must see to believe! If you can’t make it that weekend, please mark a weekend in October to come up and witness the breathtaking fall foliage that is Deep Creek Lake. It’s phenomenal and so peaceful here this time of year! Okay, now the thought is in your head…a weekend at Deep Creek Lake! Are you dialing yet ? (1-866-351-1119 or online www.deepcreekvacations.com) We can’t wait to see you at the lake!
