Today marks the first day of sunday alcohol sales in Garrett County for some establishments. Many restaurants can now serve a drink with a meal on Sunday’s in Garrett County. The voters of several election districts recently approved Sunday alcoholic beverage sales at restaurants when dining. The rules basically allow restaurants to serve guests beer, wine or cocktails after the purchase of a meal between 1:00 PM and 10:00 PM every Sunday. Eight years ago the law passed for Savage River Lodge and the Avilton Inn. This time around Wisp, Cornish Manor, Pine Lodge Steakhouse, Will O Wisp, Uno’s, Smiley’s Pizzeria, The Hen House and Sante Fe and some other establishments join the ranks of those establishments allowed to serve guests beverages with their meal. Package alcoholic beverages are still not allowed to be purchased on Sundays. Taverns also remain unable to serve alcoholic beverages on Sundays.
