Deep Creek Lake New Year’s getaways are a favorite way to celebrate with family and friends. There are lots of fun activities, festive events, and the mountain scenery makes your trip all the more memorable. It is a truly special way to usher in the New Year.
–Reserve your home early! I can’t stress that enough. Our homes typically sell out well in advance of the holiday. If you wait until December 1 to make plans, availability will very limited.
-If you are hosting a gathering at one of our homes, take the stress out of the festivities by having it catered or by picking up takeout. Visit our concierge page to see Deep Creek restaurants.
-Head to Wisp Resort to ring in 2018 with their house DJ. Suitable for all members of the family, there is no cover charge for this celebration. It starts at 8PM in the Main Lodge. Food and drinks (Including Alcohol) will be available for purchase.
–MoonShadow is hosting a Masquerade Party! Wear a mask and enjoy house music from 8pm-9pm and Box Era from 10pm-1230am. The $5 cover starts at 930pm and includes a champagne toast at midnight
-Benefitting HART for Animals, the Fur Ball 2017 Casino is at Dutch’s at Silver Tree at 6PM. You can party for a worthy cause at this event that also features appetizers, a silent auction and favorite games like poker, blackjack, and roulette.
–Deer Park Inn is offering a special NYE menu and accepting reservations.
-Dance the night away at the Honi-Honi Bar with music by Surrender Dorothy. Music starts at 8:30PM and there is a FREE champagne toast at midnight.
-Head to Black Bear Tavern to check out DJ Thoro in the club from 9PM-1AM – and there is no cover for ladies!
NEW YEAR’S DAY
–Pro tip: I suggest getting some fresh ground coffee and muffins from Trader’s Coffee House to start the new year off on the right foot.
-Spend January 1st exploring our beautiful state parks with the annual First Day Hike. At 10AM, you can take a 2.5 mile trek at Deep Creek Lake State Park followed by hot chocolate at the Discovery Center. If you want to sleep a little later, a park ranger will lead you on a 1 mile trek through New Germany State Park. Plus, dogs on a leash are welcome too! The hike begins at 3PM.
Here’s to a very Happy New Year! I hope we see you at the lake in 2018!
P.S. Remember to always celebrate responsibly no matter where you are!
