Deep Creek Lake New Year’s getaways are a favorite way to celebrate with family and friends. There are lots of fun activities, festive events, and the mountain scenery makes your trip all the more memorable. It is a truly special way to usher in the New Year.
–Reserve your home early! I can’t stress that enough. Our homes typically sell out well in advance of the holiday. If you wait until December 1 to make plans, availability will very limited.
-If you are hosting a gathering at one of our homes, take the stress out of the festivities by having it catered or by picking up takeout. Visit our concierge page to see Deep Creek restaurants.
-Jason Shaw will be providing the entertainment at Mountain State Brewing Co. from 7-10PM
-Head to Wisp Resort to ring in 2019 with DJ Connor. It starts at 9PM in the Main Lodge.
–MoonShadow is having live music courtesy of local favorite The Davisson Brothers. The party starts at 10PM. You can buy tickets for $20 online or $25 at the door.
-Benefitting HART for Animals, the Fur Ball 2018 Casino is at Dutch’s at Silver Tree at 6PM. You can party for a worthy cause at this event that also features appetizers, a silent auction and favorite games like poker, blackjack, and roulette.
-Dance the night away at the Honi-Honi Bar with entertainment by Undercover. Music starts at 8:30PM.
-Head to Black Bear Tavern to check out entertainment in the club from 9PM-1AM. This New Year’s marks 20 YEARS of Black Bear Tavern, and they have drink & Food Specials, Midnight Champagne Toast, Live NYC Ball-Drop on the Big Screens, Red Carpet photo booth fun & MORE!
NEW YEAR’S DAY
–Pro tip: I suggest getting some fresh ground coffee and muffins from Trader’s Coffee House to start the new year off on the right foot.
-Spend January 1st exploring our beautiful state parks with the annual First Day Hike. At 10AM, you can take a 2 mile trek at Deep Creek Lake State Park followed by hot chocolate at the Discovery Center. If you want to sleep a little later, a park ranger will lead you on a 1 mile trek through New Germany State Park. Plus, dogs on a leash are welcome too! The hike begins at 3PM.
Here’s to a very Happy New Year! I hope we see you at the lake in 2019!
P.S. Remember to always celebrate responsibly no matter where you are!
