The Bob Carney “Commitment to Community” Scholarship is an award presented by Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales in memory of Bob Carney, the beloved Broker and Sales Manager from 2016-2021. He helped build the foundation of our real estate company and grow TMDCV&S to one of the largest real estate companies in the area. This award honors Bob’s legacy and his passion for our company, his team, and our community through leadership, commitment, and volunteerism. It will be awarded to one or two qualified and chosen individuals per calendar year beginning in 2023 and ending upon the discretion of TMDCV&S owners.

Total Award of $2,500. This award can be distributed to one recipient independently, or may be dispersed to two selected individuals in amounts to be determined not to exceed a total of $2,500.
Scholarship funds will be payable to the Academic Institution, Trade School, or Appropriate Recipient of the funds
To be used for:
Tuition, Academic Supplies, Meal Plans, Room and Board Costs. Other expenses may be considered by the Selection Committee for approval.
Age Range: 17-25
Must be a minimum of a senior in high school.
Any Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales Full or Part Time Employee, or Employee’s child, or any Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales Realtor’s child graduating High School or attending a 2-4-year College or Trade School. The employee, if applying, must use the funds to continue their education to improve their position within Taylor-Made. If an employee is awarded the scholarship, a future time commitment with TMDCV&S will be required. The Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales Employee or REALTOR® involved must have been with TMDCV&S for a minimum of 1 year and in good standing. Children of the employee or REALTOR® may also include stepchildren and adopted children.
Any High School Student that is enrolled in Southern Garrett High School or enrolled in Northern Garrett High School during the time of application submission and fulfills all other criteria required for submission may also be eligible to apply.
Record of Volunteering either with Taylor-Made in a certain capacity, or within the community at any event or within a local organization in which you are not compensated in the form of currency.
Volunteer Hours: 50 Minimum, More than 100 in the past 24 months preferred
GPA-Minimum of 3.0
2 School Transcripts
2 Letters of Recommendation from someone other than a family member of why you should be chosen based on the criteria
Essay written by the applicant no more than 500 words on why volunteering is so important to your community and what it means to you.
3 Skills or Goals that you intend to gain as a result of being the recipient of the Scholarship.
(The recipient must meet all of the standard criteria required for the scholarship but also distinguish themselves from the rest of the applicants)
