A wonderful venue for a family getaway. The house was gorgeous and full of amenities.- Tracy O. from Coraopolis, PA, Posted: 09/25/2018
Castle in the Sky was a great house for our family vacation. We were a crowd of 15 -- 8 adults and 7 children under the age of 10. There was plenty of room for everyone to eat meals together, to find quiet spots, and to have fun! Great location and lots of deer sightings!- Laurie F. from Hagerstown, MD, Posted: 07/24/2018
We reserved Castle in the Sky for a weekend wedding. It was a beautiful home and comfortably fit our party of 11 with room to spare! There was even enough bathrooms for everyone to get ready at the same time! The management staff was helpful and friendly and check in and out were a breeze!- Anonymous from Harrisburg, PA, Posted: 05/23/2018
Wonderful Place. Super Easy to rent. Had an awesome time.- Anonymous from Cranberry Twp, PA, Posted: 03/07/2018
The house was fantastic - clean, big enough for our group, close to the resort, ski trails, awesome view. The weather was fantastic, and it was nice to ski all day then head back to the house to relax in the hot tub and then sit by the fire!- Anonymous from Pittsburgh, PA, Posted: 02/06/2018
We had a wonderful time with friends celebrating my wifes birthday. The home was perfect for our large group of 15. The bedrooms were spacious as well as the kitchen, basement and family room. An added touch was the proximity to skiing. We literally were able to ski to our driveway when taking breaks from the mountain. One minor issue was our oven needed tended to, however Taylor Made was right on it, and had it fixed within an hour of our call. We will definitely be back. Both the home and Taylor Made were fabulous.- Joe V. from , , Posted: 01/24/2018
My vacation rental was great We had a terrific time. The house was very spacious.- Pedro P. from Washington, DC, Posted: 09/07/2017

beautiful house , Floor plan and layout is excellent
With big group age from 15 months to 72 year everyone enjoy the vacation.- Jay C. from Columbia, MD, Posted: 08/09/2016
hoME WAS CLEAN & ROOMS AS ADVERTISED. 4 MASTER BEDROOMS WITH A 5TH THAT HAS ACCESS TO HALL BATHROOM & THEN 2 OTHER ROOMS THAT HAVE FUTON TYPE BEDS--PLENTY OF ROOM! wE DIDNT' USE THE HOT TUB, SO i CAN'T SPEAK TO THAT. lOVED THE FRONT PORCH & CHAIRS & 2 SEATER SWING. IN SUMMER, THE "STUNNING LAKE VIEWS" ARE REALLY NOT THAT STUNNING. THERE ARE TREES ACROSS THE STREET THAT REALLY INTRUDE ON THE VIEW, BUT YOU CAN SEE A BIT OF THE LAKE THROUGH THE GAP BETWEEN THE TREES & HOUSES. I AM THINKING IN THE WINTER YOU CAN SEE MORE OF THE LAKE. WE REALLY ENJOYED THE HOUSE. There were a few small spider webs in the basement bedroom. not any real big deal. There was water damage in the ceiling living room /dining area.- Debora H. from Mount Airy, MD, Posted: 07/29/2015
The home was beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and Keuring coffee machine. When visiting during summer months I would suggest those guest that prefer to be cooler than others sleep either on lower level or top level. The main level tends to be warmer. We had a really good time and would definitely stay again.- Anonymous from Fairfax, VA, Posted: 07/22/2015
Great place plenty of room for everybody. Only problem, there was no Wi-fi for music and speakers on tv were not good. Would recommend bringing a larger frying pan.- Cecelia Y. from Washington, DC, Posted: 07/08/2015
Castle in the Sky was very much as advertised--a great gathering place for our family. One suggestion would be to provide containers for recycling and empty the community dumpsters more. The house itself was lovely; it provided lots of comfortable spaces for us all. We would definitely work with Taylor-Made again.Could use more large pots in the kitchen.- Anonymous from Westerville, Ohio, Posted: 07/08/2015
Had a wonderful stay at this home, have stayed in it twice the home is very clean and very well taken care of and we cant wait till next year to do it all again!!!- Anonymous from Morgantown, WV, Posted: 05/27/2015
We stayed at Castle in the Sky with 3 families a total of 11 people, we had a ton of space and could have had 1-2 more families. The ski slopes were so close and we were able to go back and forth to warm up and have meals without spending at the lodge. We can't wait to go back!- Dana M. from Lewis Center, OH, Posted: 02/04/2015
Great property - could be ski out with very short distance walk to slope. Beautiful view of sunrise over lake. Short walk to water sports.- Karen D. from Red Lion, PA, Posted: 01/18/2015
Great house, great location. The charcoal grill needs to be replaced, its too small for the house and its falling apart.- Lynnise N. from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 08/27/2014
This home is fantastic. Twelve of us stayed in this home and it was beyond comfortable, convenient, and accommodating. I will definitely be renting this home again!- Natalie E. from Mount Airy, MD, Posted: 08/20/2014
Everyone enjoyed the Castle in the Sky.- Bonita B. from Glenn Dale, , Posted: 07/23/2014
Everything was great - problem only half of the hottub worked and the grill was not big enough to cook mre than a couple of hamburgers at a tme.- Cecelia Y. from Washington, DC, Posted: 07/16/2014
This house is so massive and large. It was fantastic with all of the furniture, rooms, and bathrooms. There is zero Verizon service on top of this mountain. Even though there is supposed to be a bear-proof trash container on the property we could not find any. Zero internet and HD channels weren't a huge problem but would have been really nice to have. I would love to keep coming back to this place.- William T. from Germantown, MD, Posted: 06/25/2014
Castle in the sky is a very appropriate name. Very roomy and well laid out. Down falls, kitchen needs some up dates, stove, sink, fry pans, for the size of party, maybe add large electric fry pan and skillet. Update main tv. Upside, this is a beautiful home which we really enjoyed. Great gathering spots throughout.- Anonymous from Denver, PA, Posted: 02/25/2014
Our group really enjoyed our weekend at Castle in the Sky! The house was very clean, spacious and comfortable! We will definitely rent this house again! And it was in a perfect location for ski in/ski out. The conditions were great to ski right up to the door!- Karen S. from New Windsor, MD, Posted: 01/28/2014
We always have a good time . Large dining area and kitchen makes it nice for get together.- Anonymous from Catonsville, MD, Posted: 10/16/2013
This home was fantastic for four families and children. The level driveway is great for bike riding as is the quiet neighborhood street. The yard is great for some t-ball or football. Plenty of space for kids and adults to have their own. Wonderful spacious rooms.- Denise H. from Pasadena, MD, Posted: 09/19/2013
The only problems with the vacation experience is that the coffee maker needed to be replaced, it took over 30 minutes to brew a pot of coffee. The grill was pathetic, very small and old for a property of that size.- Lynnise N. from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 09/11/2013
House was awesome. Had everything we needed and more. Would recommend in a heartbeat- Tommy G. from Weirton, WV, Posted: 08/06/2013
We enjoyed our stay - since the property is separate from the resort, it might be nice if more materials on activities were located at the house, as well as maps to help navigate where to go. Once we figured it out, it was quite enjoyable!- Kathleen S. from Fort Thomas, KT, Posted: 07/24/2013
This was a great house for an annual getaway for six couples who have been friends since high school. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, room at the table for all, and great gathering spaces as well as private spaces.- Amy C. from Gaithersburg, MD, Posted: 06/28/2013
We were here for a family Memorial Day Getaway and our stay at Castle in the Sky was wonderful the property was in great condition and the Taylor Made staff was great, we plan on staying here again and would recommend this property to anyone who would like a great place to stay in Deep Creek MD.- Anonymous from Morgantown, WV, Posted: 05/29/2013
This was a great place for our family time together. The open floor and spacious bedrooms were a plus.- Anonymous from Erie, PA, Posted: 04/02/2013
This was a wonderful house for our group. Ski in/ski out was perfect. This house had NO WiFi so beware. My sons snowboard was stolen so don't leave your equipment outside. Pillow cases for extra pillows in the house would have been nice. I would definately go back.- Jerrilyn B. from Vienna, VA, Posted: 02/20/2013
Nice, large house - for the money, not well finished or furnished.- Anonymous from Darnestown, MD, Posted: 02/15/2013

Great time and great place! the house was beautiful and I will recommend it to all my friends, hope to do it again next year!- Annette S. from Reisterstown, MD, Posted: 10/31/2012
I loved this house. It was very nice and very clean. my favorite was the Ms. Pacman machine in the basement.- Robin P. from Pikesville, MD, Posted: 10/16/2012
Overall a very nice place to stay. Property needs a little work. Sliding screen door was off the track. Dishwasher unusable. Filthy inside with collected water in bottom. Carpets were badly stained in areas. On the plus side, lots of kitchen tools, plates, cups, glasses and appliances. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Lots of room for parking. Could be updated with newer TVs.- Anonymous from Brookeville, MD, Posted: 09/25/2012
Castle in the Sky was the perfect place for a family of 6 brothers & sisters to get together and have fun! The size and location of the bedrooms allowed all of us to have some privacy, while the huge kitchen/dining areas and open living room gave us a sense of togetherness. We utilized the game room, enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and really appreciated just sitting on the front deck at the end of the day.
The interior of the house looked just as pretty as the pictures on the website, and was obviously maintained well. The property management company was very responsive to a few minor needs, which we appreciated.
My only suggestion would be to replace the bath towels with some fluffy, luxurious ones in keeping with the overall classy feel of the place. A small thing, but it can go a long way towards making guests feel special!
All in all, a wonderful experience that we hope to repeat annually!- Deborah C. from State College, PA, Posted: 08/08/2012
The house was lovely. I just had a few issues and Taylor made addressed them on the spot.- aretha s. from baltimore, MD, Posted: 07/14/2012
Castle in the sky is just that the sunrise and sunset are million dollar views. The screen in porch is a thumbs up.Only downfall at this property is the shower the water pressure is very weak.weaker- Anonymous from Upper Marlboro, MD, Posted: 06/29/2012
I loved this house. The pictures online don't do it justice. There's more rooms then the pictures suggest.- Kwasi A. from Washington, DC, Posted: 05/30/2012
Great ski on/off location but little snow. Bad year for snow and late in season. Only a few trails open. Beautiful 70+ weather, good for hiking Swallow Falls. Extra large hot tub. Plenty of room for a large group to spread out.- Anonymous from Wilmington, DE, Posted: 04/12/2012
We had such a great time! The house was perfect for our couples retreat.- Anonymous from Woodsfeild, OH, Posted: 02/28/2012
Everything was perfect, had a really good time on the mountain. The only thing I would suggest would be an upgrade on the main TV (the ravens game is made to be watched in hi-def!)- Anonymous from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 01/18/2012
We have had two Thanksgiving reunions for 35 family members at Deep Creek and have held Thanksgiving dinner at Castle in the Sky both times. The house has a large family eating area, and with additional tables and chairs brought in, we could comfortably seat all 35 of us!- Anonymous from Glastonbury, CT, Posted: 12/14/2011
This is the 3rd year that my wine club members and I have stayed at Castle in the Sky to attend the annual wine festival at the Garrett Country fairgrounds. Each and every time we stay we are most happy! Sadly we will not be staying in Castle in the Sky
next year. But rest assured it is not because we did not like the house, its because it is not big enough. We must move on to another. You guys are AWESOME! Thanks - Sabrina- Sabrina M. from Owings Mills, MD, Posted: 09/13/2011
Overall this was a great place to stay. The only two complaints I had were that there was garbage in the kitchen that smelled when we arrived and we could not see that lake as much as the pictures showed we could.- Anonymous from Cabot, PA, Posted: 08/22/2011
The property was wonderful. I visited with the Vessels of Praise, a youth group at my church. We are so very excited about your homes we have already begun fundraising for next year!- Angela H. from North East, Washington Dc, Posted: 08/10/2011
We were told there was a gas grill on the property and never found one. Would have liked to make smores.- Judith B. from Strongsville, OH, Posted: 07/10/2011
The location is just great close to everything...If you go with a large crwod, this is the house to pick...you will not be disappointed. Very clean!!!
- Angela T. from Little Orleans, MD, Posted: 06/13/2011
Lots of room on main floor and bottom floor to spread out and relax with family and friends. The layout is very nice and the windows/porch areas allow you to take in the beautiful scenery. Lots of room for parking.- Grace L. from Centreville, VA, Posted: 01/19/2011
There was only one thing that upset the stay and that was that the gas fireplaces
(3) leaked gas and a few of the quests got to feeling very strange. We had to turn off the gas to the fireplaces and all started feeling just fine. Enjoyed the rest of our stay, especially all the snow that was falling.- Anonymous from Perry Hall, MD, Posted: 01/11/2011
This property is fantastic. The furniture is comfortable and it is always clean. Having eight bathrooms is a definite plus when a group of women stays. It would be nice to have internet available.- Anonymous from Fairmont, WV, Posted: 10/05/2010
Price charged via web was higher than what was in brochure.- Francis P. from Columbus, OH, Posted: 09/08/2010
Only complaint is that it had a wasp problem. The wasps kept coming in through the ceiling rafters. The kids got very scared and started abandoning the upstairs entirely. Very nice house otherwise.- Tom S. from Arlington, VA, Posted: 09/06/2010
The house itself was beautiful and well equipped. I had no trouble with the reservation process. My issues were with the cleanliness and the view. Although the view provided on the website was accurate, we felt it could have been made clear that the view on the picture was from one small corner of the porch only.
I felt the cleaning could have been much better. It appeared that the house was not cleaned right before our arrival based on the cobbwebs in corners and bugs in several windowsills. This was very apparent in the upstairs game room, several bedrooms, and the outside hottub area. The lower level smelled musty, and there was a big problem with crickets and spiders particularly in one of the bathrooms in the lower level, so much so that the kids could not use the bathroom. We kept catching them, but it got to the point where it bothered them too much to be comfortable using that room.
Many light bulbs were out, and then a breaker blew and we called maintenance to get into the garage to flip the breaker panel. The air conditioner also leaked and we cleaned up a couple of inches of water in the utility area and called maintenance.
Based on this experience, we would probably not rent this particular house again, and when selecting a home next time, I would ask for a clear understanding of the view, and request that the home be cleaned immediately before our arrival, as I would do when having guests in my own home.
- Anonymous from Bel air, MD, Posted: 08/16/2010
The house was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend to others.- Anonymous from Clymer, Pa, Posted: 04/21/2010
Beautiful house...more bedrooms then expected. Everyone had their own bathroom. Perfectly located for ski in/out. Hot tub was already heated before we got there. Everything was labeled. I would stay in this house again (hopefully next year).- Rich B. from crownesville, md, Posted: 01/05/2010
We had a gathering of 39 family members for this Thanksgiving reunion. We needed a central location for those living north and south (one family flew to Pittsburgh from California), plus a large enough house to allow all of us to sit down for dinner, plus enough beds and bathrooms to make everyone happy. Deep Creek Lake Rentals was wonderful about helping make this reunion a success. We rented three separate houses within easy walking distance of each other, which worked out perfectly. We plan on returning in 2011.- Anonymous from Glastonbury, CT, Posted: 12/14/2009
Our vacation stay at Castle In the Sky far exceeded our expectation. The house had everything anyone would need or want. The only thing that some of my guest mentioned is that they would liked to have had a chair in each bedroom to keep from having to sit on the bed while in the bedroom. I was very very happy with the house from making the reservation to information provided prior to the visit to checkin and checkout. This was truly an awesome trip and my group is looking forward to visiting again next year. Thanks for everything. It snowed during our final night stay which added the icing on our trip. Beautiful location, beautiful scenic view and well worth the cost.- Harold C. from Upper Marboro, MD, Posted: 10/20/2009
The house was absolutely amazing. Not too far off the beaten path, but just enought for us to get glimses of a beautiful mountainside. We came for the wine festival, and this was our first time staying with Taylor- Made poroperties. It won't be our last:we plan to rebook this house next fall. Also the house should be billed as 7 bedrooms, there are 2 rooms not listed , both with futons. They could easily hold 6 extra folks.- Yolanda R. from Nottingham, MD, Posted: 09/28/2009
Great house! I did the planning for this trip and all of my friends and guests kept giving me kudos all weekend long about the "Castle in the Sky". The house is totally set up for large group gatherings and was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was clean and we instantly felt "at home" when we arrived. Nice size kitchen for cooking for large groups. Hot tub and pool table were added bonuses. I'd recommend this house to anyone and everyone! Enjoy!- Anonymous from Pittsburgh, PA, Posted: 09/09/2009
Love the location. Disappointed that the same things we reported in December were still in need of attention. Spent a lot of the week in the cold, re-lighting the furnace and firepaces, due to empty propane tank. Had unknown TV problems. Need preventive maintenance program, either owner or brokers??? Too much to spend for those kinds of kinks.- Connie S. from Rochester, PA, Posted: 03/08/2009
I would rate this house and location with a 5. Only small problems, one closet off hinges, smoke detector haning from ceiling and thermostat upstairs needed to be secured to the wall. The house was very comfortable with more than enough room. Loved the ski in/out convenience. Taylor Made was very friendly and accommodating. Very happy with Chad Taylor.- Anonymous from Springfield, va, Posted: 02/13/2009
Everyone had a blast. Wish the ski conditions were a little better but the house was off the chain!- Anonymous from Parkton, MD, Posted: 01/13/2009
The home could use some more kitchen supplies. For instance- there was no colander. Also- more pots and frying pans would be good. The ceiling fan in the great room did not work. Also- there is not a good place to leave skis inside the home. I assume the owners use the garage which was not available to us. Overall- we loved the home. Thank you.- Jim L. from Gaithersburg, MD, Posted: 01/05/2009
There are 2 bathrooms w/lights out. Room temps are VERY inconsistent, Level 3 hot, level 1 cold; the space heaters helped. Most important: The level 1 fireplace would not stay on. VERY accomodating/comfortable TV room on main level. Kitchen WELL stocked. Games on site for all ages. Lacks ski storage space. Overall would highly recommend.- Connie S. from Rochester, PA, Posted: 12/17/2008
