Our family was for the most part very happy with Finn McCools. The kitchen is well equipped. Lots of room for the kids and family to congregate. The dock area and fire pit area provide lots of fun. Hot tub was clean and maintained. Our main recommendation for improvement would be to remove the old carpeting and replace with some solid surface flooring that is washable. With so many feet, pets( we loved that we could bring our pets) and the dampness of a wooded lot, getting rid of the carpets would make the house seem less musty and feel cleaner.

Beautiful, spacious well laid out home... nice big upper and lower decks. Our family of 8 adults and 3 young children had plenty of room to romp about. Beautiful setting with a well maintained dock. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The aquatic center nearby provided a nice afternoon for the 3 children.

The weather was not favorable but our trip was great. Three generations together celebrating one sons 30th birthday. We had three grandkids with us, two around two. There were two baby gates available that we used outside when we were on the deck & inside to keep kids from going downstairs. House is so roomy everyone had their own space. Boat shown in picture is not for renters use. Dock on lake was great though there were no fish biting and we had rain most of the weekend. Would be great during summer months. Extra fridge downstairs was a bonus to store beverages. Loved the open area living room & kitchen. Would rent again if we visited the area again.

We rented Finn McCool's to house an annual get together of old college friends and their spouses. Everyone enjoyed the house and its amenities, especially the private dock and dock deck. The house provided an ideal setting for our "reunion." The common areas were spacious and well laid out while the bedrooms provided sufficient sleeping arrangements. The decor of the house is a little dated and some of the furnishings could probably be replaced, but nothing was in a state that made them an issue. The group intends to do this as an annual trip and Finn McCool's will certainly continue to be on our list of places to consider for the future.

we got a house on the lake to do some kayaking. We found you had to go early in the morning or late at night or the water was to rough. loved the deck by the lake great for watching boats and tubers. We rented a boat for two days and enjoyed that. House was fairly easy access to the dock. Loved the large kitchen it made life easy.

Our large family was looking for a place to get away and enjoy Thanksgiving and Finn McCool's was perfect! The home was well cared for and immaculate. We easily pulled off an entire home cooked Thanksgiving Meal and all sat around one table to enjoy it which was one of our main criteria. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas with a well laid out path to the lake and an excellent outdoor fire pit. The location was ideal as well being close to shopping and Swallow Falls where we spent an afternoon. The Taylor Made Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great place with large family...especially with small children..bedrooms are off to side of gathering area. The kids enjoyed the hot tub...and we loved the private dock.
The kitchen was great: large and well stocked with utensils as well as a Mr. Coffee with filters. We visited the Walmart to make a large shopping run the night we came in on Saturday, but it was surprisingly busy and very few cashiers around, so I'd wait to a more promising time or try one of the other supermarkets. The Shop N Save next to Huey's Ice Cream in McHenry looked well stocked with everything and might be a better alternative.
Speaking of Huey's, we tried going to Lakeside Creamery but it was so mobbed, we continued on to Huey's and really liked the ice cream there, eating it outside the store. The young lady serving the ice cream was full of good vibes.
Back to the house: the combination of refreshing swimming by the pier, which is just the right distance from the house, and the hot tub made for a great combination of relaxation. The outdoor gas grill had a virtually new grill top and made great food. The A/C worked great too. There are two refrigerators: one upstairs and one downstairs.
We went to Deep Creek Lake State Park and also Swallow Falls State Park. The former has a good beach for young kids, and the latter has falls and good swimming and wading for all ages.
One person fished and caught several, all of which he released.
We encountered ZERO mosquitoes.
I visited the Kings Run recyling center twice during my trip to get rid of aluminum, glass and cardboard.
On the negative side, there are very few items left from other renters: salt, pepper, coffee filters, small sponge, single washing machine soap, small amount of hand dishwashing soap, a few cleaning items.

There were just four of us here: three adults and a four year old child. The child loved trying out the bunk beds and also the downstairs room. The other two adults were happy with their rooms, but I found the bed a bit soft, so I switched to firmer bed. There were enough rooms that we had that luxury.
- Harold B. from Salisbury, MD, Posted: 06/07/2016
The house is lovely. I would say they could use a new microwave but we lacked no kitchen utensils or dishware. We hauled all our recycling to the recycling center (note: it is not single source so if you are a recycler, sort bottles separately from plastic).
We took a vote before leaving regarding next year -- Deep Creek or the ocean? Hands down -- Deep Creek.
- Joyce L. from Joppa, MD, Posted: 09/20/2015
We ranged in age from 7 months to 78 years and a good time was had by all. The first two days we were there it was a little chilly and rainy so we took advantage of visiting the nearby Discovery Center with the kids, playing games (there are plenty of games and puzzles in the house) and took turns relaxing in the hot tub. Once the sun came out we hiked nearby Swallow Falls, went swimming off the dock and had early evening marshmallow roasts! Aaand we kept a close eye on the bear who pretty much lived in the backyard of the house next to us. He even climbed about 75 feet to knock down acorns! He paid no attention to us whatsoever. We also saw three deer, tons of chipmunks and a neighborhood dog named Hunter.
- Frederick D. from Canonsburg, PA, Posted: 07/07/2015
The round part of the house is unique. Could use a few trees trimmed to let more sunlight in.

We stayed at Finn McCools. I was concerned that the property was older but went ahead because it was lakefront. This was the perfect place for our family. We had 14 people staying the weekend with children aged from 1 to 17. There was something for everyone and we had a wonderful time which we will always remember fondly. Great open floor plan, awesome deck and the wooded area leading to a beautiful dock was ideal. Quiet and just a beautiful property. Everyone fished and enjoyed the firepit. Felt like a home away from home...lived in but in a good way...comfortable. Only complaint was that it was a bit hard to warm up the house especially cold in the basement. The staff at Taylor deep were super friendly every time I called with a million questions before choosing a property and afterwards. They were professional and patient and well informed. Appreciated their availability as well ( taking calls until 9 pm).

Perfection in all aspects. The place was ready, clean, and very comfortable. We had a great time and recomend to everyone. The owners and people at Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations are extreemly kind, considerate, and professional. A great team!

I would recommend this property to my friends. It very nice and very close to just about anything you might need.

This was our first time at Deep Creek Lake, and it certainly won't be our last! We thoroughly enjoyed the house; it was nice having the majority of the rooms on one floor, two great rooms, a large kitchen (relatively well-stocked), and a nice TV/Wi-Fi setup. The lot was beautiful; plenty of woods, not terribly close to the neighbors, a bit of a distance from the lake (allowing for some space between the home and boat noise), and a nice fire pit set up. This portion of the lake was a bit more secluded than other homes we looked at, and it was beautiful in the evening. We had several interactions with Taylor-Made over the course of the last six months, and every interaction was exactly what you would hope to expect professional, caring and thorough. We were actually a bit concerned posting such a glowing review, because we want to keep this a secret, but it wouldnt be fair to the owners or to the realty company.
- Robert H. from Brookeville, OH, Posted: 06/17/2014
The staff was courteous, the house was well equipped, especially the kitchen with cookware, the large flat screen TV a plus. We appreciated our experience at our Deep Creek Taylor Made home

We had a great stay at Fin McCools and really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. We rented a boat from Deep Creek Marina and were able fish the lake with ease. We recommend the home and the area, it is a very nice oasis from the hectic life

Everything was great; however there were no lifejackets on the property (that we could find) and we had ot purchase them in order to use our water equipment (paddle boards) as the police came over and said it was mandatory. House was exactly as pictured-enjoyed our stay.
- Anonymous from Whiteford, MD, Posted: 07/22/2013
We waterski and the dock was a good dock for our boat. It was a nice dock for jumping in & playing in the lake. The path down to the lake is nice and not too many steps.
- Lorraine C. from Bowie, MD, Posted: 07/17/2013
Overall our vacation was fantastic, location was great. I only was disapoointed with a couple of things, one bathroom had mildew on the tile and should not. The biggest issue is more of a safety issue, the wooden pathway to the lake had broken railings that were not secure from being dry rot and were broken away from the walkway and some of the actual walk squares were caved in on one side. The house was nice and roomy and family had a blast. If the walkway was fixed I would rent it again.
- Anonymous from Gibsonia, PA, Posted: 07/11/2013
The property was not ready for our early checkin. The property management was understanding but we expected to be able to checkin early. There was a problem with the hot tub and we could not use it until the next day. There was a problem with the dock ladder and it took 2 days to fix it. We also did not have a working house phone for 3 days . The management company was able to get everything fixed, it just took longer than it should of. As far as the location, we really enjoy deep creek and will be going back next year. Hopefully we will have a better experience.

We had a few minor repairs needed while we were there which were handled promptly by the rental agent. They were very helpful and courtous. Location was an issue...only because the fishermen wanted to be closer to the main lake. They did explore the area we were at and found new fishing spots.Over all a great property.

Right on the lake, had everything we needed! Definitely planning on going back!

From making the reservation to the helpful staff who answered all my questions to the beautiful property, I have not complaints. Would recommend it to everyoe!!
- Tyrone S. from Annandale, VA, Posted: 02/06/2013
Everyone had a great time. I couldn't give you 5 starts for the overall rating because the hot tub has an auto shut off feature. When we were finally ready to use it around 10pm (we turned it on at 7pm) the water was ice cold. It was still a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend the house to my friends.

Spacious, lovely house in a beautiful setting. Short drive to Wisp for a great weekend of skiing and relaxing with friends.
- Deborah C. from Manheim, PA, Posted: 10/03/2012
It was beatiful to be there this time of year with the leaves changing colors. We had time to reflect on the deck of this house with fall foliage all around us- the lake at the end of the property. We had two grandchildren who loved playing in the wooded area within view of adults. We went to Swallow Falls State Park twice and absorbed the beauty of God's nature all around us. Deer and turkey were visable everywhere. Thank you Taylor Made Vacations for a wonderful opportunity to enjoy this vacation.
- Charles W. from Haymarket, VA, Posted: 08/09/2012
We had a great time. The bedroom layout, with all but one on the same floor, was really convenient. Plenty of utensils, pots and pans for cooking. Gas Grill was handy and we used it several times. Dock was a bit of a walk for Mom (she's 87!), but the kids (of all ages) really enjoyed swimming and kayaking from the floating dock. And we took advantage of the hot tub, too. We alternate the family vacation between beach and mountain; we'll definitely consider Deep Creek Lake and Taylor Properties when mountain vacationing in two years.

Our stay was wonderful! We have stayed at several homes in Deep Creek and this was our favorite. The house was clean and well equiped. The lower deck was wonderful and we enjoyed many hours sitting there. I would recommend this home highly and hope to be sitting on that deck again next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Finn's McCool rental. The house was as described and even better! Very clean-close to the lake and shopping, resturants. Beautiful weather topped off our Easter vacation!

Finn McCool's was a great place to stay! Location is great for both summer and winter stays. The floor plan is very open, and the house is spacious which allowed everyone to have their own space. The hot tub overlooking the lake made for a relaxing time for everyone. I would recommend this house to future vacationers!

Rain, rain, snow, rain, but we all still managed to have a great time in this awesome home. i can't imagine how amazing it would have been if the weather had cooperated and we could enjoy all the decks, firepit and dock. we will be back!
smelled a bit musty as well. On the last day the sump pump stopped working, so no one was able to shower before leaving town, etc. When we called about the issue a maintenance worker came right over, which was nice, but we were on our way out. Overall the
home was comfortable, and worked out well for 8 of us though for our long weekend stay. The views of the lake, trees, and dock were great.
- Anonymous from Ashburn, VA, Posted: 08/30/2011
The home was nice, and I wouldn't mind renting it again, but there were a few things that we would have liked better. Having the hot tub on the deck would have been more convenient, and having a little grassy area would have been nice too. The basement
Nice path to the lake, well lit at night. Firepit was great place to roast marshmallows. Internet was fast, and the hot tub was great. Thanks Finn McCool's!
- Anonymous from Gaithersburg, MD, Posted: 08/26/2011
Great location on lake. Loved the Great Room, all the families could gather with a great view of the outdoors. Outdoor decks could use a little work and updated outdoor furniture, but overall was fine. Lower deck overlooking the lake has fantastic view.
- Carolyn S. from Bethesda, MD, Posted: 08/08/2011
We loved Finn McCool's in every way. What a super place and location. One thing--carpenter ants in the kitchen. The deck could also use some more comfortable loungers or chairs. It would be nice to have a hose to hose down our dog and kids. Other than that, it's perfect!
There were a few problems when we first arrived, but the property manager very quickly solved them all.
- Anonymous from Middleburg, PA, Posted: 08/08/2011
The amount of boat and jet ski traffic at this site is very heavy. It made the dock somewhat unstable because of the wakes. Water actually sloshed over the dock at times and made things dangerous for small children.
- Joe K. from Charlottesville, WV, Posted: 08/01/2011
The house is a bit older than many surrounding properties, but was in good shape overall, with a good location and variety of amenities. We had a very good time and enjoyed our stay.

The Cabin was amazing and the Staff at Taylor Made is wonderful! We had a different cabin reserved at first. Something went wrong with it at the last minute and they helped me find this one to save my family Reunion. The location is perfect, the cabin is beautiful and it and the land around it are well maintained.

too many flies were found in the house upon check in
- Anonymous from Pasadena, md, Posted: 03/16/2011
The home was so spacious and far lovlier than the pictures show! Our only trouble was with the very steep ramp to enter the house. It had ice and a layer of snow and we literally had to grasp the railings to avoid falling. This was especially hard when we arrived and needed to bring all our things inside.

This was my first time staying at Deep Creek. This was a great vacation for my family. The property was spacious and was well maintain. We spent most of our time and nearby Wisp Resort. I can't wait to visit again in the spring time so I can enjoy the lake and play golf.
