We stayed the remaining days of a beach vacation. Hurricane Florence ended outreach vacation early. Since we were not ready to go home, we came to Deep Creek. Had a wonderful four days. I would say the road up to the cabin needs work. Significant number of potholes.

First time at Deep Creek so unfamiliar with locations and the area. The Fir Shore house though was a great place to stay. Very spacious and accommodated the 15 people we had in there. The place was very clean and beautiful. Not close to the lake but still in driving distance. The only problem we had was the garbage was not taken out from the last people and that first night a bear must have came because it was knocked over and some trash all in the ground.
Main living space: well laid-out for accommodating 14 guests. However, the couches in the main living room are outdated and have seen better days; both couches "sink" towards the middle. We congregated predominantly in this main living space so it made the couch situation more obvious. Carpet throughout the main living space and upstairs is worn. Suggestions for kitchen: need to invest in better knives.
Lower level: hot tub was great and we enjoyed relaxing after getting bumped around tubing on the lake. The couch down here was very comfortable and the space was great for entertaining between the foosball table and pool table.
All guests said the beds were comfortable and we slept well. Deck area is awesome; we were outside at least half of the time during this stay; we set up cornhole boards on the deck and had plenty of space for that in addition to grilling out and using the picnic table.

The property is one road up from Lake Shore Dr (main drive) which is nice so you don't hear any of the traffic. Very convenient for commuting to the Deep Creek Marina as well as Swallow Hills State Park. There is a property directly next door which was occupied during our visit but we didn't hear too much of the noise from that house. Plenty of space for parking and the rooms are all spread out which made it easy for people to get around without everyone crowding in one area.
The house served our needs perfectly, as we were 3 individual families, each with kids. Each family got their own level to reside on, with my family splitting the two upstairs master suites with my parents. There was ample seating between the large table and eat in kitchen, plenty of storage for food, and plenty of space for us to spread out, while still feeling cozy and united as a family. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We also used the back hill (a little steep but do-able) for some family games. The lower outdoor back porch and furniture could use a little upkeep and love or updating. The gravel road leading to the house could also use some love (maybe paving in the near future?), and be sure to bring vehicles that can handle the steep gravel driveway leading to the house. There was ample parking for all 5 of our vehicles.
Taylor-Made was very helpful and informative about the area, and the house, and were accessible and friendly when needed.
We spent our first full day at Wisp, where we found aerial activities for all ages in our group (4-74 yrs). This was a family favorite day. It was so fun to be able to do our own activities, while watching and cheering each other on. We finished with some bumper boats, and go cart racing at Smilies.
We spent our next day on the lake, with a rented pontoon which was gorgeous, relaxing, and fun. The house comes with a boat slip, which is a short drive from the house, with easy parking, which made loading and unloading a cinch. We used Lake Life Boat Rentals, as we received a free tube with our Taylor-Made rental. Go for the full day rental, it's worth it.
We will definitely be returning to Deep Creek in the fut

We had such a wonderful stay at Fir Shore! There were 14 of us (10 adults, and 4 kids) renting the house for a family gathering and as a 50th Wedding Anniversary present to our parents. We were there for 4 days, at the end of June. The memories made were priceless.

House was well equipped and beautiful. TV stations were OK. Driveway was steep and icy.
- Anonymous from Clinton, MD, Posted: 11/28/2017
Fir Shore is a beautiful home away from home. Nicely decorated with all the amenities of home! The home is secluded and nestled away from the main highway and sits atop a hill where you can view the lake from the deck. My family enjoyed this home during the Thanksgiving holiday, I would highly recommend this home for any family gathering big or small.
- Anonymous from Lititz, PA, Posted: 09/06/2017
We really enjoyed our stay at Fir Shore. The house was just the right size for our family, there were plenty of bathrooms, and it has a large table where we could all gather. There were a few minor things wrong with the house that happen because the house is lived in, but nothing that kept us from enjoying our vacation. When we had any questions, they responded pleasantly, and the dishwasher service man was very courteous and professional. We would probably rent somewhere else with closer access to water but we didn't miss it on this visit because the weather was cool and rainy, and we had the perfect place to be together indoors. We had a great weekend!
- Richard S. from Glade Spring, VA, Posted: 08/15/2017
Overall the house worked out well for our stay. Beds were comfortable and all the bathrooms helped with everyone getting ready. Wi-Fi is slow, parking is extremely tight, and the road to the house is absolutely horrible.

I had a wonderful time staying at the Fit Shore property while vacationing at Deep Creek. The house was clean and in excellent condition and the Taylor Made staff members were friendly and provided great sevice throughout our stay. We had 13 people in our group (4 separate families) and the accommodations were comfortable for all. This property has a hot tub and pool table, both of which were a big hit for everyone. Thank you Taylor Made for a great vacation. This was our first time at Deep Creek and we will definitely be back and stay in a Taylor Made property.

House was beautiful. Very nice view. But definitely need truck or least front wheel pull a lil off to get to it. But will definitely go back. Planning to come back this summer
- James P. from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 02/08/2017
The place was great. It's a house that feels very cabiny. If I had to say something negative it would be that the internet was very, very slow, almost to the point that it was useless. That being said, we didn't go to Deep Creek for the internet and everything else met or exceeded expectations. The pool table is great for killing time when the weather isn't that nice and the place is large enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other all week.
- Max R. from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 02/07/2017
Very nice space, conducive to large group with kids. Space was clean and staff were friendly. Only critiques were: very limited cleaning supplies (it couldn't cost that much to give an extra roll of tp and more than one dishwasher detergent pod, although I know they were on the packing list), TV/sound systems were hard to use with a jumble of disconnected cords. Altogether great fun! I would certainly come back.
- Stephanie M. from Capitol Heights, MD, Posted: 02/10/2016
The property was tucked away in a great location, not to far off the beat and path. The home was clean and laid out as described all the amenities was in working conditions. The home look better in person than it looked online. The customer service was great, we had some miner issues that was taken care of right away. I would highly recommend for adults, even though it's kid friendly...We love it as adults. Looking to rent this location again in the summer months.
- Katie S. from Woodstock, MD, Posted: 01/28/2016
We had an amazing time at the house! The staff was so helpful and friendly. We greatly appreciated the extra mile to plow the snow around the house and around our cars. We are looking to come back to deep creek and we will absolutely book with Taylor Made again, no question.

My husband and I, our five kids, spouses and their little ones were there to celebrate mine and my grandsons birthdays. Location was convenient. Check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier. House was roomy and spacious. Hot tub was great!! But..........the furniture. Living room chairs should be put in the trash. A previous review complained about them. I can't believe they are still there. Not repaired yet? Better to get rid of them and have nothing. It made it difficult to sit in the livingroom. No one had a place to sit comfortably. There were several cob-webs hanging from windows that I hit with a broom (that we bought because we didn't see one.) Later in the visit we found a broom on the deck. Lifted basement couch when we left to make sure we didn't loose anything. Found items-not ours- that were missed during cleaning? Maybe cleaning crew should move furniture and vacuum underneath. Only one blow dryer in the whole house. I specifically called and asked if the bathrooms had them and was told yes. I told my kids not to bother bringing any. So we had to take turns. And since toilet flushing was mentioned as an issue in the house-book, it said to use plunger. Well, there was also just one in the whole house. That brought some laughs!! Loved our trip to Swallow Falls!! And the car cruise in Oakland!! Maybe find sturdy wooden living room chairs with cushions. Beautiful house!!

Eleven of us stayed at Fir Shore over Labor Day weekend. The house was really nice and clean and the dock slip was very close, although not walking distance. The living room furniture was pretty worn down, but it all did the trick. Check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier, the staff of Taylor Made were great. I would definitely stay there again.
- Stacey R. from Battleboro, NC, Posted: 07/14/2015
Had a Friends Reunion in this Beautiful home. Plenty of space. Minutes from Deep Creek Lake, Deep Creek state Park, Restaurants, shopping
- Anonymous from Pittsburgh, PA, Posted: 06/30/2015
We had a great time. Beautiful home. Lots of space around the house, adequate sleeping space, and entertainment in case the weather isn't optimal. Close proximity to restaurants and the lake. Only negative feedback is the house is on a steep hill, so no outdoor games. Also, no fire pit.
- Anonymous from Marriottsville, Maryland, Posted: 01/05/2015
Really enjoyed the property.
- Anonymous from Waldorf, MD, Posted: 12/01/2014
The home is beautiful. There is a nice view from every window. We booked for 3 night and it snowed. No reason to go outside. Played games, watched movies, grilled. Sat in hot tub while snow was falling. Great place for family time
- Laura G. from Gambrills, MD, Posted: 09/09/2014
We loved this house! It was a great time! It is a large house, and it was very nice! We would definitely stay there again!

IT was a nice remodeled house. Speakers in house did not work. Plenty of space and nice size beds. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay! Cant wait until next year!

Taylor-Made Vacations was AWESOME to deal with! I will always use their services when staying in Deep Creek. They were very attentive and very helpful. Fir Shore was an awesome place to stay. Highly recommend it! Roomy, beds were great, the place was very clean.....a little musty down in the basement and what everyone says about the furniture is true but overall it was a very nice place. We would stay here again. Friends that were w/ us have already booked the place for their family to stay in. Plenty of room, great amentities and gas fireplaces were nice added features! No firepit though!:( Worked out great w/ 5 couples. Thanks again Taylor-Made! Customer Service is their number 1 priority!

There were 12 people in total that came for the cabin trip and it was absolutely amazing. It was the first time any of us did something like this and we are planning on doing it again! The cabin was better than I expected but next time we are going to get a bigger one so more people can come. The only downside was there wasn't really much to do activity wise however that just made us spend more time together inside and there isn't anything wrong with that! Overall, Fir Shore was a beautiful and comfortable cabin and I would definitely recommend it to any family!
- Stephen G. from Washington, DC, Posted: 02/10/2014
Great place. We had a total of 10 adults and it was a very good time. We would consider renting the property again. We ended up getting a lot of snow on our departure day and the maintenance crew was very quick to come out and plow the driveway. For the homeowner: The receiver seems to be broken, not a big deal but the superbowl game was a little difficult to hear, other than that it was a great time and I would highly recommended it.

We stayed three nights in Fir Shore and had a great time. The house was great and the staff at Taylor Made were very accommodating. The only critique is that the couches need to be replaced. Other wise a great view and a great experience.
- Stephanie G. from Moundsville, WV, Posted: 10/16/2013
Fir Shore was very spacious, we had 7 couples that went and enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the pool table and fooseball table also loved the openness on the main level
- Anonymous from Reisterstown, MD, Posted: 08/14/2013
Clean, spacious house in a nice location. We had a very nice week there, and we found the property management people to be very easy to deal with. However, there were a few small issues with maintenance (some furniture in poor condition, pool table needs repair, lock on hot tub is rusted and won't lock, house phones weren't working properly, etc.), and the internet service was slow and inconsistent. All in all, though, it was a very positive experience.

Didn't know what to expect driving into property. Drove past several run down abandoned properties. Pleasantly surprised by rental. Very nice house, roomy, comfortable beds. Teens loved the pool table and having the downstairs to themselves. Living room furniture needs replaced, good luck crawling out of it. Shower in one MB did not work properly. The telephones to be used for local calls were a joke. Crackling noise and sometimes not working at all. But, all in all, we had a wonderful week. Especially enjoyed the shaded side porch.
- Anonymous from Inggold, GA, Posted: 07/02/2013
The house was great except for the pots and pans. My family cooks most of there meals and the pots and pans were in very rough shape. If you rent this house plan on bringing your own cooking pans.
- Gregory P. from Landisville, PA, Posted: 06/19/2013
We had a great time on our vacation...house was very nice and spacious, however the deck faced the road and there was no firepit.
- Thetius H. from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 04/23/2013
Me snd my friends had a wonderful time during our stay at Fir Shor. The house was beautiful. We're looking forward to coming again next year if not sooner. The only thing we didn;t like was the amount of snow that was left around the house when we arrive. I thought it would have been cleaned up by the owners.Overall it was a wonderful experience for us. I would definitely tell a friend.
- Gina A. from Cumberland, MD, Posted: 03/13/2013
They layout of the house is beautiful. Its close by to everything yet still secluded for privacy. It snowed while we were there at that's a wonderful view to see on the lake. Very clean and maintained well. We will be back next year.
- Patricia B. from Annapolis, MD, Posted: 02/12/2013
Thank you! Had a great time!
- Jessica S. from Elizabeth, PA, Posted: 02/06/2013
Overall the stay was great....only improvements would be to update the furniture...great room and game room sofa's were in very poor condition...looked nice, however cushions were very worn and sunken in. Also, there were not enough pillows on the beds...the ones that were there were very thin. Location was great, nice view of the lake and very private. Game room was expansive, and layout of the house was great.

We had a great experience at Fir Shore with three families. The house has plenty of room to spread out and is close to Wisp. We did not have 4 wheel drive and could not get up the steep driveway in the snow so we had to dig out "parking" along the street. The house was well-equipped and clean and rental agents were very helpful. We could never get the WIFI to work, but that was our only complaint. I highly recommend this home.
- James E. from Aliquippa, PA, Posted: 01/03/2013
The house is beautiful and I loved the layout. It made for a wonderful experience with friends and family. It was in a great location, close to all the things we wanted to be near. My only complaint is that a stool and chair were already cracked when we arrived, so it could have been dangerous when we unknowingly sat on them. Hopefully those will be replaced before the next tenants arrive. Other than that, it was a wonderful overall experience and I'd recommend it to anyone!
- JoAnn C. from Westminster, MD, Posted: 11/27/2012
we had our extended family together and they loved the view and the house. Some minor things need attention but still a great place.
- Anonymous from Eldersburg, MD, Posted: 09/05/2012
Location was close to everything yet still private. The floor plan was open and inviting. Parking was a bit tricky, and the hot water heater was broken. However the staff was very nice and came out each morning to reset it so we could take hot showers. The basement definitely has a funny smell probably from the flow of the hot tub traffic in and out of the house. All in all it was exactly what we wanted and gave us some great ideas for our next trip to Deep Creek.
- Michael Q. from Derwood, MD, Posted: 05/15/2012
Its a great secluded spot on the lake. Its not lake front and a bit of a walk to the lake it self but not terrible. The house is very roomy, with a lot to do. Definitely could see my self staying here again.

Great place and very spacious!!!!
- Anonymous from Ellicott City, MD, Posted: 03/01/2012
property was very nice, the driveway was not suitable for non-4wd vehicles which was added to the description after I had reserved. maintanence did not call prior to arriving several times, but other than that property was fantastic and a great vacation.
- Anonymous from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 02/01/2012
The house was lovely. Beds comfy and very neat. Half the house was kinda cold and we called for service four times. Overall, the stay was awesome. Wisp was close, and the pizza at Simleys was great
- Anonymous from Mount Airey, MD, Posted: 01/02/2012
Very nice; very enjoyable. The driveway became icy and we were not able to get our car up to the house. Those possible conditions could have been mentioned beforehand so that we could have brought the right vehicle.
- Anonymous from McLean, VA, Posted: 12/28/2011
Very nice recently renovated house. The property was clean and all set when we arrived. Overall it was a very good stay. The only thing is that the bedrooms in the basement were very cold and there were no extra blankets, so I recommend bringing some with you.
of abandoned homes next door that are really eyesores and make you feel a little uneasy about being there.
- Brian T. from Pittsburgh, PA, Posted: 09/10/2011
We stayed for labor day weekend. The house and deck were spacious enough, but there was a horrible smell in the basement (like mildew), the light switch for the game room was on the fritz, and the dryer didn't dry clothes very well. There are also a couple
together. The furniture is a bit old and needs to be repaired (if you don't want to spend a few minutes getting out of it!) and the dryer does not work. The media systems are a bit frustrating - with so many remotes (some of which did not have batteries!)
it was almost impossible to turn on. Overall, however, we had a great time.
- Anonymous from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 08/21/2011
Fir Shore is centrally located yet its placement in the woods makes you feel you are miles away! Six spacious bedrooms gives everyone in your party a sense of space while the great room downstairs is a great focal point for everyone to hang out and play
- Joe B. from Herndon, VA, Posted: 06/14/2011
The wifi didn't end up working when we arrived, but they offered to send somebody out. Also the amenities on the site were not fully updated to reflect the type of grill etc
The kicthen was very well supplied and all the cleaning supplies were available. all in all a very pleasant stay.
- Anagha B. from Ashburn, VA, Posted: 04/25/2011
We had a very good stay at the property. the management was very helpful in getting connection to the internet and getting the toilet fixed. One issue we had was that the basement area had a peculiar odour.

The house was very spacious, a very beautiful home. The amenities were very entertaining. I hope to stay again in the spring or summer.
