I loved our long weekend away and Lakeside Hide-Away. It's rustic, and a little outdated, but we were happy. It was clean and functional. It is not an ideal place for small children or elderly, as I saw in other reviews. The deck and stairs inside are not protected well for little ones. We didn't have ours with us this time but we could have figured it out. The hill to the lake is difficult when it comes to walking back up. Fine for us but might be an issue for others. The furniture was comfortable, and the deck furniture is especially nice. We did not use the firepit by the lake, though we planned to, because of the walk and probably having to rearrange the chairs. I didn't expect the dock to be in the water this late in the fall, but I also didn't expect it to be pulled up so close to the firepit. The gas fireplace is on the bottom floor and the stairs to get there are narrow. The stove is very small, but has four burners and a working oven. We aren't hard to please so it was perfect for the two of us. I can tell that upgrades have been made for guests, for sure. The staff at the rental office were lovely on the phone and in person. We had plenty of towels, hot water, and water pressure. Neighbors are very close but we barely noticed them. It was our first stay in the area, and we'd definitely return to the same house! Even with our young children.

I reserved the Lakeside Hide-A-Way to help celebrate my wife's birthday with a getaway from DC area. It was our first time to Deep Creek Lake and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The home was comfortable and easy to find.

My husband and I spent several days in this small but very cozy house and were satisfied with our stay in it. Very quiet and peaceful location of the house, a great place for fishing and rest by the water. The house was clean, warm and comfortable even when it rained outside. We were satisfied with our short stay in this house by the lake.

The cottage was older, but maintained. The interior was cute, but the kitchen was tiny, smaller than most bathrooms, so cooking was a challenge. The property was on a hill that was difficult to climb up and down to the lake, but it appeared that access down to the water was being upgraded. There was a lot of motor boat traffic on the lake during the day, so was not peaceful, but it was quiet after dark. I would recommend the property to a young, active family, but not to the elderly or anyone with health problems.

We were very happy with the location. It was close enough to everything but secluded enough to enjoy quiet time on the deck and on the private dock. The house was small but that was apparent from the description. The management company was very responsive to us when we called because there were wasp nests under the eves on the deck. I would recommend this property and would possibly return. The one thing that would make the property better would be terraces and/or steps to make the descent to the lake less steep. It is a bit treacherous as it is.
