St. Bart's Retreat Getaway
We rented St. Bart's Retreat as a relatively last-minute getaway before changing jobs and before the summer break for the kids. The rental process was simple/easy and the check-in/check-out were the same. The house is beautiful inside and out and has all the amenities listed and expected from such a nice lake house. We enjoyed swimming/fishing from the dock, the hot tub, the indoor games (shuffleboard, pool, games and puzzles), and the convenience of a pontoon rental from Silver Tree Marine for a day! We caught up with old friends who moved to Oakland a decade ago and were anle to make a good day out of a visit to Swallow Falls. We did have a problem with the smoke detectors (1 battery needed to be replaced and others were missing, but an online trouble ticket to Taylor-Made resolved that pretty quickly. All-said, it was a first experience for the kids and a great week at the lake!
Thank you for the review! It is great to hear that you had such a good time. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again!

This was a trip down memory lane for us. We are former owners. We found the place better than we left it, and totally suited our needs, as we knew it would.
Thank you for the review! It is great to hear that you were pleased with our care of your former home and that you had a good time at Deep Creek. Let us know when you are ready to come back!

Beautiful Home, Busy Lake
The home was perfect for our 13 occupants. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen was fully stocked, and there were plenty of activities. The only downside is the dock sits on a thoroughfare of the lake, which means a lot of traffic and wake. Don't expect to lounge in calm water by the dock! But we remedied it by renting a pontoon to accompany our other boat and docked in one of the coves for a day of fun and relaxation.
Hi Lydia! Thank you for you review! We are so happy that you enjoyed your time! This home is located on a main chanel of the lake so it does get a little busy in the summer but I'm glad you were able to find a cove to hide in! Hope you come see us again soon!- Lydia , Posted: 08/05/2019
St Bart's was a perfect introduction to Deep Creek Lake
Our friend group just returned from St. Bart's Retreat and Deep Creek Lake. For 10 years now we've vacationed together all over the country and even occasionally outside the country. I hate it took us this long to discover Deep Creek Lake. The mild temps and non-existent humidity made the days beautiful and the nights bug free and cool. The lake is beautiful and the surrounding countryside was a welcome change compared to some of the places we've been. There are plenty activities nearby for the kids to do (we had 19, 13, 10, 9 and 2 year olds) and they all found things to get excited about. Restaurants are plentiful and we had great meals at Ace's Run and Moonshadow Cafe. So long story short, I can't say enough good things about Deep Creek Lake. The house itself is excellent. It's bigger than the 7 bedrooms sounds and our group of 16 never felt crowded. The pool table, shuffleboard table, and hot tub created plenty of entertainment options for our evenings. Setting up the reservation with Taylor-Made, communication during the reservation, and service were all top notch. We had some hot water issues at the beginning of our stay in the downstairs bathrooms, but after a quick email, a plumber was on site, and we were all squared away. The beds are all comfortable and our whole group indicated they slept well. The kitchen has more than you'll need. We found it well appointed with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc and the two fridges and two dishwashers completed a perfect setup. The property itself is elevated above lake level quite a bit, so there is no backyard. A wooden staircase takes you down to lake level to the shared dock with the house next door. There is some flat space out front of the house, and the fire pit is situated just to the left of the driveway. The house sits on the main travel corridor between the north part of the lake and the south. So boat traffic can be considerable. With no wake break the floating docks do move quite a bit, and depending on the size can become a challenged to navigate. We had not trouble reading or fishing off the dock, but SUP or kayak folks might look for a quieter cove. All things considered, we had one of the most relaxing and refreshing trips in Deep Creek Lake. The house was wonderful and the people at Taylor-Made were great. We don't often revisit places in our vacation trips, but we all agreed, that if we do, Deep Creek is on the list.
Thank you for taking the time to send us your thougnts on St. Bart's Retreat. What a great review and it sounds like you had a perfect trip!! So glad everyone enjoyed it and we hope that you will come back and be our guest again very soon!
We appreciate your business,

Great weekend at a FANTASTIC house!
This house is simply beautiful. Very clean, very well maintained. The numerous trees on the property provide a great private feel, yet it is very close to all the local food spots and activities. Many, many beds! We had 19 men down for a bachelor getaway and all slept comfortably. Pool table and shuffle board were a big hit. The double refrigerators and dishwashers in the kitchen area great addition! The listing did not mention a hot tub though -- so no one was prepared (no suits). Only other minor complaint, the fire pit is in the front parking area. Would be much better in the back with that amazing view of the lake!
Thank you for the review! I am glad that you are your friends enjoyed you time at the home. I'll take a look at the listing to be sure that the hot tub is mentioned. I will also pass along your feedback about the fire pit. Give us a call when you are ready to come back!

St. Bart is absolutely beautiful! From the large windows looking over the lake, to the spacious layout that is PERFECT for large groups, this place was perfect. The large kitchen featuring 2 huge fridges and dishwashers was perfect for easy storage and clean up. The pool table and shuffle board game were great vacation additions. The hot tub was relaxing at night and the home was close enough for our group to go out and enjoy everything Deep Creek has to offer in the winter. We'll be back soon St. Bart! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!
