Fantastic, restful vacation
Tranquility completely lived up to its name. It is truly an elite property, beautifully outfitted, with a great view, especially to watch the eclipse. There was plenty of room for all seven of us to spread out if we wanted. The ability to bring our two dogs was greatly appreciated, and they had a wonderful vacation also. If our needs do not change, we would happily return there next year.- Ruth G from Baltimore, MD, Posted: 08/31/2017

So many great places to eat and our children came and shared this beautiful home with us. Perfect vacation?Already recommended Tranquility to our neighbors.- Beverly H. from Abingdon, MD, Posted: 07/04/2017

Tranquility was a great home with tremendous amounts of space for our large group. It was very cozy and resembled a true natural cabin feel. The home was in great shape upon arrival and very easy to locate. It offers a wider variety of things to do at the home and plenty of space for each person.- Anonymous from Westminster, Posted: 02/28/2017
We had a wonderful time at tranquility. Was the perfect spot for a group of friends to hang out. Apart from skiing, spent most of our time at the house just hanging out. Would definitely recommend to others!- Anonymous from Washington, Posted: 02/28/2017
This place was so beautiful!!! Thanks!- Jennifer R. from Pittsburgh, Posted: 02/07/2017
We will definitely come again. This place was cozy and delightful. There were a lot of us yet we never felt like we were on top of each other.- Heather B. from Pittsburgh, Posted: 12/12/2016
It was a great reunion of two sisters who don't get to see each other the rest of the year.- Brenda C. from Annapolis, Posted: 10/24/2016
We rented this house for a weekend during the Savage Man triathlon. The house was perfect -- everything that was described in the ad. It is a great, close to the state park and overlooking the lake. The house is immaculate, incredible well kept and well-equipped. In addition, the team from Taylor Made was professional, easily accessible and accountable. Great team, great house. Couldn't have been a better stay. Thanks- Steve R. from Takoma Park, Posted: 10/04/2016
A big thumbs up to the team at Taylor-Made. You provided us with the perfect home to accommodate our family. The location was convenient to the lake. The view from the top deck was awesome. And the rooms were clean and spacious. We did have an issue with the A/C unit, but your HVAC guy came right out to recharge the unit. We can't wait to book again next year.- Thomas H. from Bel Air, Posted: 09/28/2016
The property is really nice, clean, the kitchen is well equipped for our group of 12 people. Location is great, quiet, secluded, yet convenient to park, store or restaurants. Staff is helpful. 2 things are not good, the ad says there are 3 and half bath, we could only find 3 full BR, no half BR found there. The check out phone line wasn't working, had to call maintenance emergency line to check out. We had great vacation experience overall.- Anonymous from Ellicott City, Posted: 09/21/2016
We rented the cabin Friday-Sunday. On Saturday we drove to WVU for a football game. Much more enjoyable for the eight of us to stay in this beautiful cabin than a hotel. Would recommend Tranquility.- Anonymous from Hughesville, Posted: 11/17/2015
This house was very clean and comfortable . Kitchen well stocked , we really enjoyed the hot tub.- Anonymous from Arnold, Posted: 10/06/2015
WE HAD A GREAT TIME

WE ALL WANT TO COME BACK NEXT YEAR- David W. from Somerset, Posted: 06/16/2015
The pictures do not do this place justice. The house was wonderful, everything worked the way it should from the time you're there. We went in the winter time, the road conditions were fine, and Taylor-Made was very accommodating.- Aaron G. from Baltimore, Posted: 02/04/2015
We traveled here with 3 families and had an awesome time! Check-in & check-out were a breeze. We left an item behind by mistake & when we called the staff at Taylor made were so helpful. They found our forgotten item & shipped to our home at their expense. That's great customer service! We will definitely rent from them again! The house was a lot more spacious than the photos depict & there was enough room for 12 people to spread out comfortably. Our only complaint would be that the game room on the lower level was extremely cold. We made a fire which helped but the wood that was on the deck was wet. It would be nice if they had a covering to keep the wood dry...other than that it was a great place!!- Nancie O. from Sewickley, Posted: 01/29/2015
A nice quiet time in an nice home with most everything needed.- Anonymous from laurel, Posted: 12/15/2014
The house was pretty perfect for our group of friends. Had a really good time. Highway was a little noisy, but overall a nice house. We also make so pretty extravagent meals, so it helped that the kitched was pretty stocked with cooking necessities.- Matthew K. from Baltimore, Posted: 10/21/2014
First time renting from Taylor Made Rentals and I was impressed. We have been going to Deep Creek for over 10 years and have rented many properties. I would be this home on the top of the list. Lovely home, furnishings were well maintained and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Very clean. We travel with 3 other couples and we all agreed to rent this home again- Anonymous from Washington , Posted: 10/15/2014
Two families were able to share this home for a week and had a great time. It had everything we needed to cook, plenty of space for 8 people to sleep, and the view was nice.- Anonymous from Potomac, Posted: 08/12/2014
Our vacation involved four families staying together for a week at this lovely house. It was a family reunion with eight adults and six children all ages six and under. Most days were filled with outdoor activities, which were all close by. Mornings and evenings were spent at home in the hot tub, shooting pool, eating cooked-in dinners and playing games. The house was extremely clean and the kitchen was well equipped. All televisions worked well and the hot tub was clean and checked while we were there. The only improvement I could suggest would be to replace the couches in the living room and basement because they were "saggy". I would recommend this house to friends.- Anonymous from Glenshaw, Posted: 08/05/2014
Late winter weekend getaway w/ friends... View of Wisp at night while in hot tub is great! 1 gas and 1 wood fireplace both used all weekend, open concept kitchen to dining room to great room was nice. Will be back if available for next year! Thanks :)- Tim M. from Edgewood, Posted: 03/04/2014
The house was perfect! All 12 of us were amazed with the house and the location. Everyone was grateful for such a perfect weekend getaway. The only down side was the hot tub issues. The water wouldn't get and remain hot enough after the first night and it seemed to turn green after the second night. Of course, the temp could have something to do with the extremely cold winter that was going on but, still.- Angela G. from Baltimore, Posted: 02/05/2014
The property was very clean and Taylormade made our stay effortless. I went with 7 others and we enjoyed a very relaxing 3 night stay here. Although it is not a typical cabin experience (the house is very modern), it was a nice retreat. the kitchen has most appliances and cookware that one would desire. the only down falls were that the driveway was extremely steep and the house is not sound proofed at all. you can hear every foot step. also of the fireplace was on on the main floor, the second floor and the basement were ice. overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely go back.- Tondalaya M. from Slippery Rock, Posted: 11/19/2013
What a beautiful unit. The staff of Taylor Made are true professionals!- Bonnie P. from Dunkirk, Posted: 11/17/2013
Due to an owner error we were upgraded to another property by the staff the night prior to our arrival. That was a gift! All interactions with the staff at Taylor-Made were very professional. In my search I did not find that with the other rental companies. The weather was cloudly the entire time we were there, so we spent alot of time at the house and in the hot tub. We did decide to buy a hot tub after our experience with the one at "Tranquility". It was perfectly maintained. We will be back in the summer next year, not the fall, and will rent again from your wonderful staff.
Thanks for everything!- Anne D. from New Castle, Posted: 10/16/2013
House was listed as STAR property, but had a very neglected, run down look, ie bushes not pruned, over 5-6 ft in overgrowth, food on carpet, dirt on steps, and strangely, housekeeping put notecards in the beds, between the sheets. Taylor misfiled original check for over a week. Will go elsewhere next time.- Anonymous from Warrenton, Posted: 07/23/2013
We have rented a few other houses at DCL and this was my overall favorite so far. Great open floor plan, plenty of space, nice furnishings, large kitchen. We did not use the lower level but noticed that it had a slightly smoky smell from the wood-burning fireplace. There was a bit of lake view, mostly blocked by trees. Very convenient location. Only downside was a lot of highway noise on the deck (not at all indoors). As usual, the Taylor Made staff was efficient, professional, and really pleasant to deal with.- Anonymous from Silver Spring, Posted: 07/05/2013
The house was just what it said and met our expectations! We enjoyed the stay!- Brittany N. from Westminster, Posted: 03/12/2013
I stayed with a group of friends for a get-away ski weekend. There was plenty of room to house all of us, with a basement gameroom and a first level living room to split activities. The house was fully stocked with appliances, kitchen needs and other items to make our stay without want. The company was easy to deal with and accommodating. The road to the house and the driveway are fairly steep, so winter conditions may be difficult for non-4-wheel drive vehicles, though nothing some salt and a lot of shoveling couldn't fix. We will definitely be back!- Emily L. from Baltimore, Posted: 02/12/2013
We had a great stay at Tranquility! The house is very comfortable, clean and fun! We had a great time playing pool with the fireplace blazing. The hot tub was a great way to relax after our workout on the slopes at wisp! The kitchen was very well stocked with everything needed to make nice meals. The beds were very comfortable and the view of the lake was so relaxing!! All of this and pet friendly too!!! We could not of asked for more! Can't wait to come back! Thanks so much :-)- Maureen M. from Myrtle Beach, Posted: 01/24/2013
Very nice property. Chilly basement. Steep driveway- we were worried about our van with winter weather. Beautiful views. Loved Taylor made staff ! Cheerful, helpful, immediate response to calls.- Anonymous from Oregan, Posted: 01/08/2013
Thank you so much for the perfect home to celebrate our Dad's 75th. birthday. The house was spotless. Would you please send your crew to my house! There was plenty of space for our big family and the furnishings were very comfortable and updated very well. I appreciated the great service ease of the electronic documentation your company uses, the digital entry to the home and checking out via phone. It was so easy! Thanks again,
Linda- Linda R. from mars, Posted: 11/25/2012
We loved the house and everyone at Taylor was very professional and went above the call of duty. We had a weekend booked when over 2 feet of snow fell before we arrived and the whole town lost power. Lisa and Chris were very helpful in keeping us posted on the power outages and promised that we would have accomodations when we arrived even if we were put in another house..... I would recommend Taylor Made and Tranquility to anyone.- Anonymous from West Chester, Posted: 11/06/2012
Tranquility was a very nice property. However, it is beginning to show a little wear. Needs some TLC. The entrance steps need attention and the landscaping needs some work. We did really enjoy our stay. The marina slip was well used.- Hal S. from Sterling, Posted: 07/24/2012
House was in a great location, and well-maintained. We are accustomed to renting "self-catering" houses, and found no awful surprises. Wireless internet access was a HUGE plus for those of us who had to keep tabs on non-vacation items.- Anonymous from Charlottesville, Posted: 07/11/2012
Nice!- Kay K. from Fairfax Station, Posted: 07/04/2012
The only thing I can say that is just slightly negative is that the stove burners are a little insane, so be careful. Other than that, well-stocked with cookery, blankets and towels, etc., and overall a very comfortable and nice place to stay. We were very pleased and would return.- Alene M. from Kensington, Posted: 05/15/2012

Very nice place. Very cold the weekend we were there and the only downside was the basement was a little chilly. But that is to be expected in a house like this one.- Patrick H. from gallitzin, Posted: 02/14/2012
Nice view.- Brian S. from Sykesville, Posted: 02/07/2012
Had an amazing view of the lake ! Everything was well cleaned / taken care of. Didnt have any issues would def. stay there again.- Nicole A. from New Kensington, Posted: 12/27/2011
This home was perfect for our fall family weekend. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our stay.- Jan S. from New Wilmington, Posted: 11/08/2011
This home was beautiful and very nicely decorated. The ONLY complaint that we had was that we wished the house was a little more clean. (Since we had a 10 month old with us, we noticed that the floors were a little dirty. And of course, with any property,
we saw proof of mice). We were completely satisfied with the staff of Taylor-Made Vacations. Very professional, helpful and friendly. We hope to come back to Tranquility for another vacation in the future!!- Anonymous from Princess Anne, Posted: 09/12/2011
The place was very nice. Just little things like the shower head in the master bathroom was horrible. Very little water pressure. It was clean but the furniture in the family room needs be moved and cleaned. A lot of dust bunnies. Other than that it was
a great place to stay.- Anonymous from West Grove, Posted: 08/31/2011
Tranquility at Deep Creek was a wonderful place to get together with our family for a few days to simply relax and enjoy each other. Having the boat slip made it easy to go down to our boat whenever we wanted. The house was spacious and well equipped. We would definitely rent this house again.- Anonymous from Uniontown, Posted: 08/02/2011
Everything was good, but, might suggest you have someone trim the bushes in front of house. It hasf it has overgrown the entrance steps, The steps are also stating to slant, whiuch may cause someone to trip and fall. The hot tub cover is torn and makes for a bad appearance, however it works o/k.
and lastly the gas grill was in bad and dangerous condition when we arrived, the maintenance man had to replace it. But the tank valve on the propane tank could noy be turned off or on. This could be dangerous. i suggest someone check it.- Anonymous from Wheeling, Posted: 07/12/2011
We loved how the house was decorated and equipped. It had just about everything we needed and more. We did have a few things that we noticed that could have improved our stay. The downstairs did not heat up well, we had to crank the heat to feel a difference downstairs which made the upper levels quite warm. Sleeping in the downstairs bedroom was comfortable but it was still pretty cold to comfortably sleep on the pull out couch down there. The firewood was in a spot on the deck where it had gotten wet-perhaps a new location for this would be better? I found some droppings on the mantle while working on getting the fire going. Some additional dish towels and hotpads in the kitchen would have been helpful as well!
Overall all, we had a great time and would definitely rent this house again. Taylor Made made our experience seem almost too easy and the house was great.- Meghan O. from South Lebanon, Posted: 03/22/2011
excellent home- driveway needed plowng which was done in about 10 minutes- Anonymous from Catonsville, Posted: 02/07/2011
Security code was disabled when we got up and the cleaning people waltzed in unannounced mid morning of our last day, about 2 hours before our noon departure.- Anonymous from Gambrills, Posted: 01/30/2011
Everything was excellent. The house was beautiful and perfectly clean. Thank you.- Anonymous from Bethesda, Posted: 08/19/2010
My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Tranquility. The view was great and the house is beautiful. The location was perfect because it's secluded and quiet, but very close to all that McHenry has to offer. We would most definitely stay here again in the future!- Anonymous from Glendora, Posted: 05/23/2010
the place is very nice- Anonymous from Fort Washington, Posted: 04/22/2010
Loved the house and the location. The property was generally very clean except under the sofas (my baby picked up a couple of old M&Ms and nearly ate them!). There was no gas in the grill but this was quickly rectified when we called.- Anonymous from Baltimore, Posted: 11/06/2009
We had a great weekend. You could look to improve the mid-october weather...lol- Craig M. from Canfield, Posted: 10/21/2009
I thought this property was very overpriced, it is older and the furniture is gross. The toilet clogged up right away with only a cheap plunger that did not work. There were no chemicals in the hot tub, it was filthy.- Dorette H. from Clarksburg, Posted: 08/04/2009
I HAVE BEEN COMING TO DEEP CREEK FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS. WE HAVE STAYED AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PLACES WITH ONLY ONE REPEAT. BY FAR TANQUILITY WAS THE NICEST, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A QUIET ESCAPE.- Anonymous from Manchester, Posted: 07/10/2009
other than black ants in the house and a rusty nail found in the driveway everything was absolutly fabulous! can't wait to go again!- Kelly W. from Westminster, Posted: 06/20/2009
The hot tub outside was not clean at all. when we turned it on. there was dirt on the sides and it began to fall in a settle in the water of the hot tub. there were a few glasses that were not cleaned and the basement had a oder and was cold down there.
other then those few things. the whole group that stayed, had a fabolous time.- Russel C. from Largo, Posted: 03/05/2009
We had a lovely time at Tranquility. There were just a few things that needed to be mentioned to make it better for the next guest. The toilets clogged up several times. We were able to remedy the situation but no one wants to plunge on a vacation! Also, there wasn't any heat in the basement which rendered it useless as it was too cold to enjoy the pooltable or television. We would stay there again and appreciate the shoveled driveway.- Kathleen S. from Bethesdale, Posted: 01/22/2009
Nice pllace for a winter visit, a little noisy for the summer,,, Good place for the dog to play ... Great view of the NewYearsEve fireworks display ..- James E. from Washington, Posted: 01/04/2009
