MRIS/MLS Terms of Use
A few ground rules before you setup your account with us. By accepting these terms of service, we need you to certify (pinky-swear!) that you not a cold-war spy, a witch-doctor, a pirate or a nosy real estate agent from down the street, trying to find our 'secret sauce'. Before we can show you ALL the MLS listings currently available or display certain types of data, our MLS data providers (MRIS) require you to acknowledge that you're considering Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations & Sales (TMDCVS) as your real estate agent.
That may sound kind of odd, but remember: you have no obligation to work with a Taylor-Made DCV&S salesperson to buy or sell a home. You have the final say in who you hire to represent you, but by proceeding you agree to become a client of Taylor-Made DCV&S. If you are unable or unwilling to abide these terms, you must leave this site right now and continue to browse the public side of our website.
- Sticking around? Great - we can't wait to get to know you better! You have no obligation to work with TMDCV&S and you can terminate your account with TMDCV&S any time. Any information you obtain from our website is intended for your personal & private, non-commercial use. You have a bona fide, legitmate interest in the purchase, sale, or lease of real estate listings on the TMDCV&S website.
- You agree to not copy, redistribute, or retransmit any of the information or specifics of such information provided except in connection with your consideration of the purchase or sale of an individual property. You further agree that any information contained will not be used in any manner except in your personal quest for buying or selling real estate.
TMDCV&S expressly prohibits other Maryland licensed real estate agents from creating an account or accessing any other persons account on our website for any reason, be it intentional or accidental. Data contained herein is exclusive to TMDCV&S, our trade secrets, and our general know-how.
If you are exclusively working with another real estate agent, you cannot create a client account on our website, but can continue to browse as a general member of the public. (You can also feel free to utilize our full-service property management department!)
- You acknowledge that the multiple listing service (MRIS), which supplies all of the listing data, owns all data and you acknowledge the validity of MRIS's copyright to such data.
- TMDCV&S also explicitly authorizes MRIS employees or their duly authorized representatives to access our website for the purposes of verifying compliance with MRIS rules and monitoring the display of Participants' listings on our website. They supply they data and we display it according to their rules - 100%.
Agent's Comments
This remarkable property is not only the area's premier wedding venue, but it is also rich with historical significance dating back to the 1800s! The Chanteclaire farm has been operating as a wedding and event site for the past 20 years. Spread over 100+ acres, this farm, only 10 minutes outside of the Deep Creek Lake Area currently hosts up to 30 weddings per year. Not only is it a collection of stunning space, but it is also a profitable business, should the new owner want to continue to operate it this way. *All existing contracts must be honored. Contact listing agent for additional details. The land is a beautiful blend of yard space, pastures and fields, and wooded areas. The large pond on the property will serve as a brilliant background to treasured memories. The finished spaces range from expansive to modest in size and something in between. The pillar of the property is the completely finished and upgraded event barn with a stylish salon, a large covered deck, and a patio, and a full commercial kitchen. Originally built in 1840, it was renovated and restored in 2000 and transformed from a working barn to the spectacular space we know today. The floor was totally rebuilt, the frame reinforced, insulation added, new ceilings installed, and the addition of the commercial kitchen, bathrooms, and the deck rounded out the project. In 2014, the barn's silo was converted to a one-of-a-kind Silo Bar. Taken on by the TV network Animal Planet for their series "Wild Restoration", the silo underwent an intense conversion. This spot on the farm went from a container for corn storage to an unbelievable steam-punk inspired bar that has been wowing visitors for 7 years, In addition to the barn and silo, there are several outbuildings on the property including the original spring house, garages, storage buildings, and a cute little chicken coop. Overlooking the sparkling pond is one of the farm's most beloved gems: the Friend Cottage. This log and chinking structure was originally built in 1840 by the farm's first owner, Johnathan Friend, grandson of Friendsville's namesake and first European settler to the area, John Friend. In 1981 the then 41-year-old cabin was thoroughly renewed by a Garrett County resident who had a special connection to the property. Every stone and log were numbered as they were removed so that they could be put back exactly where Johnathan places them when the cabin was first constructed. Today, the cabin sits just as Johnathan intended, but with a blend of stylish and bold decor. Fully equipped with a kitchen dining area, laundry, three bedrooms, one full bath, and open living space, guests enjoy serenity around the original wood-burning fireplace, or spend time on the front porch, looking over the pond. It serves today's wedding parties as a retreat during the wedding weekend. Finally, we talk about the exquisite Victorian Farm House. Just across the driveway from the cottage, this space is also used as a haven for wedding attendants as they prepare for the "big day". Enter the charming foyer and be immediately taken by the design and preservation of this 1896 construction. 2725 square feet with a spacious kitchen and dining area, large living space with fireplace, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a fenced-in backyard, a huge front porch, and a private back deck, this structure is as comfortable as it is striking.
