Spring and Fall I would suggest hiking at one of the many State Parks. You will see something different each season.

Summer I enjoy late evening boat rides with my family. White water rafting is also a lot of fun for the whole family. Make sure you try the man made course on top of Wisp Mountain!

What is the most common misconception about DCL from out-of-towners?

That there is not much to do. There is so much to do that you need more than a few days to experience Deep Creek Lake.
